Seminar on Leadership, Management, Command, and Control



The first activity for School Year 2013-2014 at the Roosevelt College Rodriguez Secondary Education Department was a seminar on Leadership, Management, Command, and Control, held on May 22, 2013 at the RCR SED Multi-Purpose Hall.

The Resource Speaker was Mrs. Nina Frances P. De las Armas, Human Resource Development and Management Officer of Roosevelt College System. Heads of offices were oriented on managing each office, school policies, standard operating procedures, and protocols for good governance.

Orientation of Heads of Offices and Non-Teaching Staff

On May 24, 2013, the Orientation of Heads of Offices and the Non-Teaching Staff was conducted by the School Directress, Mrs. Carmencita V. Alcantara. The orientation emphasized the school’s vision and mission, the importance of their jobs, and the need to align all programs and activities with RCS Philosophy, Mission, and Vision as the school takes its journey towards PAASCU Accreditation.

Orientation of Parents and Guardians

The Orientation of Parents and Guardians was held on May 30 – 31, 2013. The aim of the orientation was to achieve wholesome Parent-School Relationship for the whole school year. The orientation was venue of discussions toward awareness about the school’s mission and vision, its program of activities, introduction of teaching and non-teaching staff, GASTPE guidelines, grading system, school policies, and the curriculum offered for SY 2013-2014.


Genyo Seminar for Teachers

The “Genyo Integration in the Classroom” and “Genyo E-Learning Training for Education” program was introduced to the teachers on May 30-31, 2013.


During the seminar, the school prepared the teachers to deepen their knowledge about the use of the e-Learning cycle in the classroom. It involves the following learning techniques:

  • ENGAGE students in the learning process through active and interesting questions and video animations, EXPLORE interactive activities and virtual experiments through the Genyo website,
  • EXPLAIN content through PowerPoint presentations, interactive lessons, and guided worksheets
  • EXTEND learning through discussions, project work and blogs
  • EVALUATE students through online quizzes, tests and E-portfolio.

Using these techniques, teachers will be able to help students become creative, innovative, and globally competitive.


Emergency Fire Drill

The orientation of students on Emergency Preparedness was organized by Mr. Benjamin S. Bernardo and Mr. Hernanie A. Tan from July 8 to 10, 2013. This activity is done annually to make sure that the schools’ stakeholders and constituencies are aware and prepared for whatever emergencies and calamities everyone may face while in school.


During the Orientation, Mr. Hernanie A. Tan and Mr. Benjamin S. Bernardo, with the participation of the Rodriguez Fire Station, teachers, officials, management, and staff discussed emergency evacuation procedures such as following fire exit routes and the directions of team leaders. Students learned how to use the fire extinguisher and other fire equipment in the building, what to do when an earthquake occurs and during bomb threat situations. The students also practiced first aid procedures to ensure the safety and well being of the staff, students, and clientele during emergencies at Roosevelt College Rodriguez.


Leadership Training Seminar

On July 20, 2013, Mr. Jeffrey B. Copiaco, Resource Speaker and inspirational motivator in various universities for career development planning, IT System Scheme and Team Building Facilitator delivered the training of the Student Council and Class officers of each section of RC Rodiguez. Mr. Copiaco trained the students to become leaders by enhancing their knowledge and expertise starting from their own classroom and spreading out to the whole school.



Parenting Seminar

The Gift of the Greatest Love”

The Resource Speaker for this seminar was Ms. Anna Cecilia I. Alvarez, former Guidance Counselor at St. Scholastica’s College Manila. Ms Alvarez has handled various seminars on parenting for different school personnel and parents of students.

The Parenting Seminar was held on July 27, 2013, in RC Rodriguez. The seminar aimed to help and support parents regarding Parent-Student Relationships. In addition, the seminar taught the parents how to overcome some of the problems they may face when bringing up their children. During the seminar, parents learned about right and wrong parenting techniques as well as strategies on how to bring out the best in their children.


Nutrition Month Celebration

The culminating activity was held on July 31, 2013. Highlights of the event were the following: Nutri-Jingle Contest, Slogan Making Contest, Graphic Arts Contest, and Cooking Contest. The Computer Education program of the school aided the graphics arts contest in the school.


The Technology and Livelihood Education Department celebrated Nutrition Month in July by developing the students’ capabilities in cooking and baking nutritious foods, offering nutritious but cheaper menus, and enriching their entrepreneurial expertise.


BSP Jamboree

Scouts for Environment International Jamboree”

RC Rodriguez representatives headed by Mr. Avelino L. Santos, Scout Adviser together with our Boy Scouts from All Grade/Year Levels joined the BSP Jamborette 2013 held from August 21-25, 2013, held at Kawa-Kawa Natural Park, Ligao City, Albay.


The BSP Jamborette aimed to empower young Boy Scouts by training them to participate in activities outside of school and making them enjoy activities that enhance the young boys’ self-reliance.

Boy Scouts and Girl Scout activities are part of RC Rodriguez’s school extension programs.


Buwan ng Wika

Wika Natin, Daang Matuwid”

Ipinagdiriwang upang maipakita ang kahalagahan ng ating wikang pambansa at maiayon ito sa mga layuning isinasagawa ng pamayanan, pamahalaan at ating bayan.


Noong buong buwan ng Agosto, isinagawa ang mga sumusunod na paligsahan at pasiklaban: Modernong Tugtog sa Katutubong Sayaw, Tunog Tao, Pagsulat ng Slogan, Pagguhit ng Poster at E-Kwento tungo sa Wika Natin, Daang Matuwid. Ginanap anf pang-sarang programa noong September 2, 2013.


First Quarter Recognition Program

The school’s Recognition program is conducted at the end of every quarter. Teachers get the students with rank 5 in all sections, the best in subject proficiency, and the overall Top 10 students by year level.


Recognition is held to motivate the students to push their potentials to the limits and to boost the performance of students as a whole. The First Quarter Recognition Program for this School Year was held on September 14, 2013.
