Brief History

In 1967, the College Division needed an elementary laboratory school for the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (BSEED) students to practice in. The answer to this need was also providential to the children of the families in the mushrooming subdivision of the community. Mr. Ireneo M. Cruz spearheaded the establishment of the elementary school. Mrs. Felisa M. dela Paz was appointed Principal of the school with Mrs. Josefina L. Cruz as head teacher.

From 1967 to the present, Roosevelt College Marikina’s Elementary Education Department has served the youth of Marikina through a responsive curriculum, with its emphasis on English, Science and Mathematics.

The current Principal is Mrs. Laura M. Moya. With the implementation of the Restructured Basic Education Curriculum (RBEC), the school is poised to meet the challenges of change in educating the child to be an empowered learner, possessing life skills and competent in learning how to learn.
