RCI kicks off Reading Program

Coinciding with the National Teachers’ Month, RCI’s Reading Program commenced on  September 16, 2016, through a workshop for all elementary teachers from RCI’s 5 campuses (Cainta, Cubao, Marikina, Rodriguez and San Mateo).  “Understanding the 21st-Century Learners” is the first in a series of workshops aimed at training the teachers to use strategies and approaches considered more effective in and relevant to producing citizens of the 21st century. Held at RCI Marikina, the workshop was attended by a total of 64 teachers who were supported by their respective Campus Heads and Principals.  Adalia Soriano facilitated the workshop.

Soriano simulated some activities teachers can apply in the classroom geared toward encouraging students’ active participation, critical thinking, creativity, and other traits of a 21st-century learner.

In her inspirational message, RCI Vice President for Academic Affairs Gillian Joyce Virata told everyone to enjoy the learning process, instill in the students the love for reading, and recapture the joy of reading.

The Reading Program is part of RCI’s Faculty Development Program which is one of the many initiatives by the new management.
